Cat Herder rounded up her staff for a little river reconnaissance this afternoon. We are scoping out the best route for our snowshoe outing with the Arctic Questers. I saw a moose out there last week and many tracks today. I figure, if the river ice can hold those huge ungulates, it can certainly hold us!

Yea, that highly scientific assessment works for me. So long as we don't venture anywhere there are no moose tracks. If you're worried about thin ice in mid-Jan. what does that say about predictions for the Nenana Ice Classic? Speaking of which, is participation part of the agenda?

Yes, participation in the Nenana Ice Classic is included, and we are providing tickets for everyone. Ice briefing at the Big I?
