One Tough Gal

Of all the accidents Cat Herder imagined could happen on this tour (bear attack, capsizing in river, carried away by mudslide, disappearing into a crevasse on the Root Glacier), fracturing an ankle while halibut fishing was not among them.

While we knew it was bad, nobody imagined it was quite THIS bad until Kathie arrived home and got it x-rayed.

Oh, and this was 12 DAYS AFTER THE FACT.  She chugged through the tour like a champ.  Here's to a full recovery in that stylish boot!

I am truly impressed how well she persevered on this trip. We really just thought it was a bad sprain, and so did the Doc until he looked at the X-ray. Just a very small fracture, but with just a bit more force, it would have been bad.

In a way, I'm glad it was at the start of the trip. Had it been after eating all of the great food we had, the force would have been "a bit more". Thanks to everyone for the help along the way!

I know what you mean! The trip odometer kept getting bigger, the hours of daylight kept getting longer, and the waistband kept getting tighter....
