You will be responsible to pay for aircraft fuel, tie-down fees, Mexican aircraft insurance, and all miscellaneous aircraft registration fees, landing fees, immigration fees, and other taxes imposed by Mexican aviation authorities.  As of November 2007, the tie-down, taxes, licensing, and miscellaneous Mexican fees for this tour cost about US$200.  Mexican aircraft insurance must be obtained before we cross in to Mexico.  For a high-performance single-engine aircraft, insurance will cost about $70.  Fuel should be estimated based on the fuel burn of your aircraft; current fuel cost (100LL) in Mexico is approximately US$3.75 per gallon.

PLEASE NOTE: All fuel purchases, landing fees, aircraft registration, passenger fees, and miscellaneous taxes while in Mexico must be paid for in cash (U.S. dollars or Mexican pesos).  Credit cards are generally not accepted, or their use includes a significant fee.  Please plan accordingly.

As with all tours, the price does not include:

•  Transportation to or from Tucson, Arizona
•  Licensing Fees, Flight Review, or any flight instruction, if required
•  Any extra activities at Copper Canyon
•  Headsets
•  Alcoholic beverages
•  Any personal costs such as telephone calls, souvenirs, travel insurance, etc.

Payment Terms:  A deposit of $500 is required to hold your reservation.  A 50% payment is required 3 months prior to the tour date.  The balance is required 30 days prior to the start of the tour.  Payment may be made by check or credit card.

Cancellation Policy:  Parkwest's policy necessarily mirrors that of tour vendors.  If cancellation occurs before 60 days prior to the beginning of the tour, 75% of deposits paid will be refunded; the remainder will be credited toward a future tour.  If cancellation occurs within the last 60 days before the tour, Parkwest can only provide a refund if we are able to sell your tour space.
Flying in Mexico:
Flying in Mexico is really no different than flying in the United States.  The Mexican officials do, however, have some strict requirements regarding aircraft, pilots, and their passengers when crossing from the U.S. to Mexico.  The U.S. officials have similar requirements when crossing back in to the United States.  There are many excellent sources of information regarding private aircraft flight in Mexico.  We consider the best to be that provided by AOPA on their members' web site.  You must be a member of AOPA to access this information.  AOPA will also provide a hard copy of their Mexican flight information.  Another good source of information is the Baja Bush Pilots.

Keep in mind that each pilot and passenger will need a passport.  Everyone will also need a visa, which we will obtain in Guaymas.

For each aircraft, you will need the following:

1. Aircraft Registration.
2. Standard Aircraft Airworthiness Certificate.
3. Aircraft Radio Station License  (Cost: $110, obtain from the FCC.)
4.  Aircraft Operating Limitations.
5.  Weight and balance information.
6.  Mexican third-party liability insurance certificate. (We recommend MacAfee & Edwards - call us for info.)
7. Letter of Authorization from the owner, if you are borrowing or renting the aircraft. This is absolutely necessary if the aircraft is registered to a person or entity other than the pilot.
8. Customs decal  (Cost: $27.50, obtain from U.S. Customs)

The pilot must have the following documents:

1. Airman Certificate.
2. Current Medical Certificate.
3. Radiotelephone Operator Permit (Cost: $60, obtain from the FCC.)

Parkwest will gladly assist all of our customers in obtaining the appropriate forms and documents in order to enter Mexico and return to the United States.  We will also assist you in filing the appropriate flight plans and communicating with the appropriate agencies prior to crossing the border.  The Parkwest guides will verify that the paperwork is in order for all aircraft, pilots, and passengers prior to the start of the tour.
